Temporary subs

Temporary subs
I don't have the tools at home to remove my factory 6 disc cd player to look, all my tools are at work, so does anyone know if it is possible to connect my subwoofers to the factory headunit? I am looking for this to be a temporary solution until I can buy a new deck in the next month or two. My truck is a 2005 ranger 4 door 4.0 4x4 5 spd with the 6 disc cd player. Thanks for the help

Thank you. That is the disappointing answer I was looking for. I had two 10" subs and alpine amp from my last car but I sold my old headunit. I was hoping I could run it with the factory unit for a few weeks or so. You guys have any suggestions for possible headunits I should look at? I have a large price range to work with

Ya I loved my alpine when I had it but it was a 3 year old model, back when they were great systems. (before they moved into the boxstore chains) from what I have been hearing a lot from everyone is kenwood is stepping up and dominating over alpine. I have no real preference, I am looking for something that looks like it belongs in the trucks dash and performs good

even my mono channel has an input for left and right, i would do exactly like rangOH here said, as a temporary solution only, as your quality will be CRAP

Ya I really hate wiring subs like that. I was hoping for outputs on the headunit so I could at least have bass. Oh well, gonna have to buy a deck sooner than expected. I can't stand the factory stereo

a well tuned amp will get the same frequencies out of line level input as a dedicated amp out, but your quality and gain will not be near the same
honestly, i like the stock deck, the only thing i don't like about it, is that you can't wire subs to it...

I agree with you. I was looking for a temporary connection to the deck through RCA cables so I can just swap the decks later and not have to do any extra wiring. It's ok though. I just got a bit of cash by selling some old parts, new deck next week? Only thing now... Which one? Prefer double din touch screen with nav if I can find one for under 500.

woah woah woah...nobody has head of crystal wire? it taps into your factory speakers via speaker wire, but has this rca transformer thing. i dont know much about it..so i may be talkin ****, but my buddy set up his fusion with that, wanting to keep his stock 6 speaker in dash HU. his system sounds amazing by the way...look into that, he got it at the source
