Need engine cleaning tips/chemicals

Whats the best stuff to use to get the built up dirt/mud out of my engine bay? It's a bit of a pain to get it out of the plastic and such.

What do you guys use?!

If there is alot of mud I would take it to a car wash and put it one the tire and engine wash and use that.

I tried the Simple Green and hosing it off about a month ago, then I dried it off with paper towels, it came out great. The whole engine compartment came out looking like new.

Maybe it's a mounting bracket for in case you want to bolt your hood down.

simple green worked okay on it. I'm trading the truck in and wanted to get the majority of "this thing has wheeled hard" off of it lol

Nope. If mud's gotten to it, it'll live lol. Didn't hurt anything. It worked pretty decent for a quckie spray and hose down.

I think thats where FoMoCo. made a way to drop the engines in and it was left in, mine has a few ring looking things and I asked my dad, he said they were on there when ford dropped the engines in...
