2.3 DOHC Pilot Bearing Question
I have a 2001 Ranger 2.3 with manual shift. The engine is very very tired (I'll post an informational thread later as to why). I bought a 2001 2.3 out of a wrecked automatic truck. I'm trying to get everthing all set to slip it right in. I ordered out a new pilot bearing expecting to get something that would fit right into the big hole at the end of the crank. Instead I received a very small bearing. I have cross referenced it and it is the bearing listed for this engine. Since I haven't got this apart yet, can anybody tell me how is suposed to fit?

Thanks for getting back to me! That is more what I thought it should look like. The part I received was just the bearing that is presses into the middle. Now I'm being told not to worry that on this engine the bearing fits into the flywheel and not the crank. I guess that I'll find out soon enough when I pull the engine?
