side to side clunk in rear axle

side to side clunk in rear axle

wheel clunks when you shake it side to side.Play in rear axle. 88 ranger

what axle?

im pretty sure all ford axles except the big daddy 10.25 and 9" use c-clips to hold the acles in place. that is what ur probaly hearing. how much play?

hey my family owns some acreage in williamsport pa.Yea i think its just the clips wearing out no doubt thanks

There is suposed to be a LITTLE play in it. Bearings and stuff. That's all I know.
