2007 4X4 out
Current status.. The dash lights DO come on during start up. When I shift to any 4WD position on the switch no clicks, pops or lights and no 4WD verified.
Checked the 2 fuses labeled 4X4 module by pass kick panel and under hood.
A little background... This had an alarm installed prior to me getting it. I did not even know it was there but it started chirping and locking and unlocking the doors one day. The battery started acting like it was being drained after sitting a few days so I decided to remove it the alarm. As it turns out it was only tied into 3 wires and none of them should have anything to do with 4X4 but NOW it does not work, it did a week before.
I am thinking it or me may have caused a power surge while I was messing with it and fried something????
Is there a way to test the 4X4 Control module? Mine is behind the switch on the dash so fairly easy to get to. I used a meter to check a few of the pins from the plugs that go into it but not sure what is correct. Had 12 volts to several pins on each plug. I also checked the switch. It is getting 6 volts to one pin. Sorry this is so long wanted you to know the whole story.
Here in Costa Rica it is not that easy to get parts. Only 1 full service dealer in the country and is 4 hours away. I really would like to figure out for sure what is bad before I order something.
Thanks
