gears on my edge?

gears on my edge?

i think i have 4.10 gears, but not positive, this the code that's on the tag on the rear dif. did i read it right? i did a search and found a link in a thread but it wasnt clear.

^limited slip 4.10?

Your missing a number too. It should read 4L10 so yes you would have 4.10 gears with a limited slip if that what the numbers say. I didnt know edges come with a limited slip?

i wiped some dust off with my finger, i bet that 4 i next to it, but the door jam axle code was R7, works for me i almost went out and bought 4.10's

so if you were looking for better gearing does that mean you are going to go out and buy 4.56's

they sure do!

I had my dealer hunt mine down. had to be an edge with LS. They found one with everything but LS and they had it delivered I told them i didnt want it.

then what do i do? replace the axle. haha

hey do you have something that explains the difference between a LS, Open, Locked, and a POSI rear end... how they work and all that bs

posi is the chevy name for LS.

Open
Limited Slip
Locker

I dont have examples of each or how they exactly work.

Open = S h i t
L/S = Better
Locker = Best

Pretty simple
