High Pinion Gears and Low Pinion Gears ?
High Pinion Gears and Low Pinion Gears ?
ok i want 4.10 gears for my truck and i was told on one of the other sights that i need high pinion gears but idk if thats truck can someone explain this to me
"low" gears are numerically high. A low gear would be 3.90, 4.10, 4.56, 5.10 etc. Best for low end speed, towing, off-road, compensation for larger tires.
"high" gears are numerically low. Such as 2.76, 3.23, 3.55 and such. More suited for top end speed, and more desirable cruising rpm.

In 1998 the Ford Ranger went to a Dana 35 IFS front axle. The Dana 35 IFS switched from a reverse rotation gear to standard rotation gear. The gears in a 1997 and older Ranger/Explorer will not work in the 1998 and newer Rangers.
You have reverse rotation. You don't need Beard you just need to search a bit.
