AVM Hub's?
Is this statement true: about the gas, tire wear, and steering?? More or less can anyone vouche for this?..have you noticed any changes?
They are constructed of Military spec hardened nylon center dial that will not damage other parts in unlikely event of a failure. AVM is the actual Brazilian company that manufactures the locking hubs for Superwinch, therefore you can rest assured that you will get the top quality products. * Ultra reinforced nodular iron body * Salt-spray tested epoxi enamel finish * Die cast aluminum cap. for Corrosion resistant- glossy finish * Internal components: Precision machined, heat treated * Premium classic design and durability... full metal cap and body * Better fuel economy... because there's less drag on your engine * More miles from your front tires... since they rotate freely. Also allows you to steer more freely in turns * More comfortable ride... steering is lighter, and there is less tendency to shimmy; drivetrain noise and vibration is also reduced * Better 4WD... performance when the hubs are locked. Works in reverse and compression braking. No slippage or partial engagement / disengagement problems

i just put mine in last wed. i dont know about gas milage but it does make the front end smoother. there isnt as much vibration in the wheel, the wheels turn with no drag and i have better 4x4 performance. with these lockouts i know there locked in and there is no slipping in the hubs. i suggest getting the avm hubs for anybosy who can because they are well worth it for the steering and 4x4 performance. the only thing i didnt care about it took about 2 months to get them and we had a couple of snow storms i wish i had them but i got around ok but i took the truck out on some feilds that i got stuck in with the auto hubs and messed around in the manual hubs and i can feel that the tire is locked in well worth it.

You could probably make those claims. But assuming the vacuum hubs were working correctly, they should do much the same.
Now if you talking versus a live axle setup, then yes it has been proven (I think, feel free to prove me wrong) that a manual hub setup will do most of the things listed.
