Finally got the JD bars on...and tuner, and shocks

so I ordered these bars I had a while ago when the had the moving sale, got them for like $65 or something. But all they had left were the large housing brackets, so I ordered them anyways and just figured i'd get them modified.( I even made a posting about it a while back)

So I got the brackets made from one of my friends that works fabing weatherheads for buildings. I had him make four though, and i'd double up on each side. I've had the things since the first part of the year, just hadn't done it. I painted the brackets with RustOleum and sanded and repainted the bars too. (I kept the old brackets so I can do an axle swap later..yeah)

I recently got some shocks from Eric (RangerNVS) and a tuner from BJ (bwester04). So I figured it want time to tune it up and mount those shocks and bars up. Heres the pics of the bars, you can only see a little shock though...eh. first pic you can see the two I got from JD and then the four i had made. And then the next two pics are them mounted.

The tuner really makes that 3.0 come alive. I got my speedo fixed also!!

I love this tuner and I don't even have my custom tunes in from Fred yet, lol. I just have a stock tune I requested from SCT that I've modified. I ran the timing up some and I'm running on 89, and changed the shift points, fixed my speedo -- and I don't even have a professional tune yet, lol. It's MUCH more responsive and quick.

I can't wait to get the "real" tunes!

I have JD bars with custom "shortened" brackets because mine hit the bed when I bottom out my rear suspension -- which I do as often as I can, lol...

I've got the 4x4 Chevy springs to mount (haven't done it yet) and those things are heavy, heavy duty compared to the Ranger springs. I think it'll be minimal with them as well.

yeah andy, everyone else ordering their traction bars recently got me all thinking about putting mine on.

oh yeah, i forgot to pick this picture i had also.
my jack wouldnt quite lift my bed high enough to take tension off the ubolts. so....instead of pulling off the tires and dropping the axle, i just started letting air out of the tires.
