Another regearing thread !

Okay I have a set of 33's on the way to my house and I know my truck is gonna need a regear. It's a xlt 4x4 with a 7.5 rear axel and 3.73 gears. My question is should I just buy a whole rear Axel from the junkyard with 4.56's in it and hook it up and just have to change the gears in the front, or should I just buy new gears for both the front and back and pay someone to Install them? And can you even put 4.56's in a 7.5 rear Axel? Thanks a ton

You cannot go to the junkyard and buy an axle with 4.56 gearing. You should buy a rear 8.8 axle and have 4.56 gearing installed. Then for the front you should buy another stock axle and have it regeared. I say "buy and have regeared" simply because a shop will charge you a **** ton to remove the axles. If you're smart enough you can do that on your own...

Regearing is expensive. I never did it and i have 35s.
