Regearing price?

Went to a transmission shop today to get a quote for just labor to put 4.10's in it and they quoted labor would be $500, thats seems pretty high to me, i would rather try to do it myself than pay that price or is that normal cost for labor?

gear setup is nothing to half ***. money spent here is well advised. but 500 is a bit steep.

There are other places around so hopefully i will get a better price. Thanks for the help, I knew 500 had to be a bit high for regearing.

Expect to pay in the $200 range for gears and an install kit. Somewhere in the $250 is about the most that I'd pay to get gears done.

whenever i 1st got my gears, i was quoted $600 to do the front and rear.......seeing as your truck is a 2wd, i wouldn't come close to paying that for yourse......you should pay around $250 to have the rear setup and installed...
