1998-2000.5 have PVH 2000.5- current are live axle. if you want to be sure you can pop off your front lug nut cover and if it is PVH then there will be a black hub looking thing sticking out.

You need to be more specific is what he is saying...err...picturing. Your OP is very vague. Let me TRY to translate so everyone understands, let me know if it's right.

Ok, now that helmet, face guard and body armor is in place... How can you tell if its "LIVE" axel? I am NOT a mech by NO means...
Ok, now that I have prepared my mentally for any possible flaming that may occur due to my following question, I need to find out if my 2000 Ranger has the older PVH front axle or the AVH Live front axle in 2000 1/2+ Rangers. I am not a mechanic so someone please explain how I can find out even though I do not have prior experience in this subject.
Guessing that since you have been looking for a Pulse Vacuum Hub you have the pre-2000 1/2 PVH non-Live front axle. Sorry.

To double check just go to a parking lot with no cars or objects and have a buddy sit in the truck and roll it around in D or in 1st for manual. Crouch next to the truck as it moves and see if the front driveshaft is moving with the rear driveshaft even though the 4x4 is NOT engaged. If it doesn't move you have the PVH non-Live axle, if it does then you have AVH Live axle.

What are your truck specs? If you are 4wd, 2000 and up, then yea you probly have live axles.

Try to clarify what it is you are talking about, and give details so people aren't shooting in the dark to try to answer you. Or yea, you will get stupid answers like I gave. Searching is also your friend, sometimes the answer can be found that way. If you exhaust the search effort, then ask a clear question with details.

Defiantly get that confirmed but it sounds like you are Live axle. There is another way to tell that is really obvious I just can't remember.

I am on my phone right now so i cant do it, but if you google ranger live axle, it will pop up q few threads from other forums. One of them explained what years etc have live axles and then posted a picture of how to tell. I can look it up later and link it, but give that a shot and see if you can find it.
