05 Edge Brake questions

Ok, so my pads are worn down, making weird moaning noises...time to replace them. Im not a big fan of turning rotors, so Im getting new ones...non-slotted/drilled...just quality vented rotors with hawk pads. My questions are...

1. Since Im 2wd, Ive got 11.28" rotors right?
2. Do I need rotors with the ABS ring included?
3. What else do I need? (Only done brakes on GM trucks with separate hub/rotors)
4. Do you guys turn new rotors?

Truck in question is an 05 Edge 2wd, 3.0, 38K miles.

1. You do not turn new rotors.

2. All the rotors I have ever gotten I just take them out of the box and install them. I have never heard of an ABS ring and if mine do have them they came with them in the box already installed.

3.Not sure about the size. The guys at the auto parts store should be able to tell you.

4. You need to get a can of brake cleaner, and grease for the calipers. Make sure you get both. Clean the rotors really good with the brake cleaner (back and front). Then make sure you use the caliper grease.

1.i think 11.28 but im not positive i looked on rockauto.com and thats what it said i would call them to verify
2.yes but ive never seen new ones without them
3.front wheel seals, high temp wheelbearing gease, brake parts cleaner, silicone based brake grease for the pins, maybe new dust caps i always tear mine up only a few bucks for new ones, coter pins, check your wheel bearing if they feel alittle loose this would be a good time for new ones since its all apart
4.no they cast the rotors in the factory and turn them, you do need to spray them down with brake cleaner to get the protective coating off they put on to keep them from rusting on the shelf

also a inch and a foot pound torque wrench's if you dont have a haynes book for your truck pick one up to it will show you how to properly torque your bearings

well, ordered my hawk HB472Y650 pads, rotors are backordered :(

I measured them, roughly 11" just eye balling them so I guess I have the 11.28 rotors.

if the new rotors do not come with the abs rings,, then try this

place the old rotors on the ground ( studs facing up )

in a circular motion , use a hammer and tap on the studs
the studs will then pop off the abs ring , and you can install the abs ring on the new rotors

( carefully with punch )

Installed my brakes and all is good now! I did manage to mess up one of my calipers though :( I kinda got ahead of myself and tried using my big *** vice grips to compress the caliper pistons and I broke one. A quick trip to the junk yard netted a nice, clean piston and some other goodies. So far the pads work pretty good, but I didnt flush the 5yr old fluid thats in there, didnt have enough new fluid. Heres a pic of the damage
