I have a '97 Ranger, 4.0 Auto trans, that needs a new trans. I have found a trans out of a '99 exploder that will fit, what I need to know is, if the helical gear on the Ranger tail shaft, for the speed sensor, is present on the tailshaft for the explorer. I know that the speed sensor pickup on the exp. feeds of of the differntial. The speed sensor for the Ranger feeds from the tail shaft, of the trans. Please help me out here, walking without this truck!!! Sorry for the long post. Thanks in advance for any and all help.

I think that year Ranger still uses the abs sensor on the rear axle for speed. Pm Bob. He knows the electrical systems pretty well.
