i think ford really cheaped out, my front plate holder is being held on loosely by 2 plastic rivets

atleast with my 2001 the holder was held on by pop rivets to a STEEL bumper, and i knew it wasn't gonna go anywhere

what kind of fixes have you guys found for the front plates??? besides taking it off, its required in oregon... i thought about nut, and bolting the bottom of the holder to the bumper, or moving my plate inside the opening of the bumper

i agree. its flimsy... i actually broke the one on my 07 off. i pulled into applebees and it was slick so i slid and the front went up into the snowbank, one side popped the rivet thing out but it broke the hole on the bumper piece.. and then i was mowing the lawn and caught the plate on the wheel of the tractor and it pulled off breaking the tap off the other side of the plate holder.. So ya i know exactly what your talking about.. idk what to tell you about more permanent though. i have to wire it to the bumper for inspection so they will pass it. i put it in the winshield on the dashboard for about a year, but that got annoying so i just took it out. so now its just not there. I wish there was a place to bolt it behind the bumper but i have no idea.. maybe just thread a bolt where the plastic rivets are now?

in oregon you can roll with it in the front window if you wanted to go that route (unless the law has changed since 2005)

its illegal to run no front plate here aswell. shockingly i still have NO tickets (moving or fixit), and i run no front plate, bright *** hid's and blue license plate LED's.

the weird thing is the cops in upland HATE illegal mods. i constantly see a ricer pulled over with 2 chargers behind them with the hood up and trunk open lol

as soon as i drove my truck home for the first time i pulled that stupid plastic license plate mount off.

i do rock mine in my tube bumper now, but thats just to fill the gap till i put a winch in there.

My truck didnt come with one so I had to guy buy one. I used actual nuts and bolts to hold it on. I love having my thin blue line tag on the front. Personally I think it looks better having the front plate holder on than having nothing at all.

God I'm glad I live in a free state! We just legalized machine guns and silencers but I don't feel like paying the money for either. When I hit the lotto I'll own one though. Wait until Cali makes black cars illegal I hope the feces really hits the fan there.

glad i drive a white truck LOL

and the reason they hate the ricers is because theres a really bad street racing problem in the city below mine. if you get caught street racing they not only arrest your *** for wreckless driving/public endangerment but they impound yo ride for a month, then CRUSH IT

MUWHAHAHAHHAHAH

Nope. OSP will pull you over for it. I never had a problem when I ran mine like it, but I've had several buddies get it, watched my "favorite" state trooper give a guy a ticket for it even though it was in his windshield, and my mom got pulled over 3 times for not having one on her mini... and they only come with the european style license plate mounting spot. She had to buy this crazy mounting kit thing from bmw...

New Mexico dose not even issue a front plate. I just took that plate holder off my new 09', was nice that there are no holes visible.
