Truck thinks its stolen!

Ok so I was working on my truck and somehow I tripped the anti theft system so now it wont start. All the electrical works just fine on the inside so I cant imagine what it is. I was installing a jetchip but when i finished it, it wouldnt start. So I took it out and tried it again and nothing. Is there a way to reset the theft system w/o taking it to the dealer? Cause I just called them and they said it would cost me 80 bucks for them to look at it.. even though I already told them all the symptoms.

ok so Tim who I got the chip from told me to go buy another battery which could handle the new timing which the chip changed somehow. So I did that and the truck would crank but then lock up. The THEFT light on my dash is still solid on there so I think thats whats causing it not to work. How do I fix that?

That sounds odd, but i guess if you're intercepting wires to computer it could think somebody's trying to hotwire it or so. you could try disconnecting the battery cables.

yeah but if he disconnects his battery cables, he WILL lose the correct time on his radio along with ALL of his preset radio stations.

lol....that sounds really odd, though. How do you know it's the anti-theft?

I think you might need to take a trip to the dealer.

Check the PCM fuse.

I used to use that fuse to clear the CEL (pre-ScanGauge II). I left it out once and encountered that problem.

if you were installing a chip and it tripped your anti-teft, then i would say call JET. and if there is a way to prove the chip caused the problem then you could make them pay for the repair bill because if im not mistaken..... it is a good bit of $$$ to have it reset.

It's prollay a blown fuse. When I was installing a remote starter in my wifes car, I mistakenly tapped into the wrong wire and the alarm started going nuts. I thought it was the remote start, so I pulled everything out and still the same prob. Re-checked my wires and found the mistake, then checked fuses. Don't remember which one it was, but check em all.

The first thing "JET" is gonna ask is if he installed it himself and if he did then they wont do jack sh*t because it probly says right on the box/package to have it professionaly installed
