level 2 fender flares?

Hey. I have a few questions:
1. What years do the textured "level 2 fender flares" come from? Are they level 2 flares? I think these are the same flares as those Edge flares, but textured and black?
2. Does anyone have a picture of these?
3. Would these fit a 1996 ranger?

I'm not sure if I've been specific enough. I THINK the years are 2001-2003? Just looking for a correction/confirmation of years and if they'll fit a 96. If I saw them, I'm sure I'd be able to recognize them immediately. Thanks!

ooh ok. I was misinformed. Those aren't the ones I was thinking of. The ones I was thinking of are like the Bushwacker 93-97 OEM kind (but obviously didn't come on those years), but instead of that weird 'dip-like' or ridge part on all 4 flares, they're just flat and textured. I guess they aren't level 2 flares, maybe just regular flares? Thanks though.

I think the second picture. Those look just like the ones I'm thinking of, but the front flare looks like it has the old 93-97 ridge?

What years/models rangers came with those weird flares and mudflaps that kinda molded to them?

93-97 had external flaps.
98-00 had built-in mudflaps(most hate 'em and they are ugly if the flap is removed).
01-05 are generally the ones people want the most. Best looking, no built-in flap crap and doesn't have those weird bodylines built in.
06-10 are the 'bushwacker' look-alikes. Unfortunately they DO NOT swap onto older truck's holes in the fenders because the circle is alot larger on the 06+'s compared to '05 down.

All factory flares mount via clips on the sheet metal fender sides and christmas tree push pins on the inside lip of the fender. Most who put flares on a non-flare truck use 3M double side foamy sticky tape and use alcohol to prep the surface.

simple answer: yes, you can put any year flares on your truck. lol.

Awesome, thanks. My truck already has factory flares, but the front passenger fender doesn't have the holes for factory flares. The ones I'm looking for now would be the 01-05 ones. Those will fit a 96, correct? Only the 06 and up flares won't?

should be a direct swap on your truck, minus that replaced fender you've got that's non-flare. '06+ flares will not be a direct swap.

I would strongly recommend against this if your truck ever gets up to highway speeds. I repainted mine, and didnt put the christmas tree clip things back on (flares were held in by just the clips that go into the side of the fender) and one of my flares decided it didnt want to be a part of my truck anymore, going down the highway at about 80 mph... was not fun. I would suggest securing them in some sort of more sturdy way than double stick foam tape. just my 2 cents.

lol... my flares have been held in by just the fender clips since like....oh....'05 and only one flew off on the freeway. I'd rather have my flares thrown off while wheelin' than my fender being completely FUBARRRED because the flares were on so taunt. lol. Even then, I replaced half hte clips and have never had an issue since.

maybe I've just got bad luck, but I definitely don't want another one coming loose on me and flying into someones windshield or something.
