Removing a supercab from it's frame
#26
Probably 2 of the pcm's are standard and automatic and the 3rd superceeded one of them with some sort of update. It will be difficult to run the 01 motor in the truck with the 04 harness and computer because you will need it plugged into an 04 dash harness and frame harness(fuel pump). The plugs all changed as well as the fuse box location in 04.The motor swap would almost be easier than the dash and frame harness swap. The you will also need the keys from the pcm donor truck or you won't even be able to get it to crank or run because of the pats system.
I see what you're saying ... I'll go ahead and put the 2001 4.0L in my 2004 Ranger. If I get a 2004 PCM and the wiring harness that it was matched with from the factory then I don't see why it wouldn't work. And as far as the PATS go, I already plan on swapping out the ignitions.
After I do the conversion, the 2001 Edge will have a primo 2004 3.0L with a little over 63K miles and I'll give you first dibs on it if you're interested.
btw ... my 2004 auto trans is in mint condition too.

Yeah, I live over in Hillview, I'm really close to the Bullitt County line. If I can't do the engine conversion. I'll definitely need your help replacing the frame.

Yeah its rare when we have any earthquakes around here and then you usually can't feel them. BTW those cabs were only in the air long enough to roll the frames to do the swap.
