Evil Eyes! Led illuminated headlights

I've actually been wanting to change my mazda's front end to the ranger style headlights/grille but I think this has changed my mind on that, today I removed my headlights to see what I could do to make them illuminate when im parked for night shows and swag factor when i run into the store to grab a few things.

I took 8 10mm diffused wide angle leds, and mounted them in the top and bottom of the headlight, even with just 4 the lighting was bright but the 8 makes it real even at all angles, all I had laying around was blue at the moment, so.. the once my leds ship I will pop the red ones in to match my paint.

Due to temptation reasons.. I'm not going to make these flash or even have a mounted switch to activate them, I'm going to use my alarms - trunk output, and wire up a a relay pack with 4 relays and 2 diodes to be able to use the - pulse into a latching on/off output. IE-free remote turn on/off, and I may wire them into the alarm park flash as well, but not sure until i actually have the red ones here to test it in place.

This was the original 4 leds

and again but with 8, at about 5 feet away.

What you guys think? I know im pretty excited to get my leds, I just ordered another 1000 resistors and have plenty more leds on the way for some more interior mods and other projects as well. =]

Looks like good work... but I'd have to see it on the truck to say whether I like it or not...

I had seen an f250 posted up at wal mart the other day with the same kind of thing, white truck with green lighting, i liked how it looked only the headlights didnt seem very bright so i wanted mine to be lol, ive never really been a fan of the underbody lighting since they always look uneven, but primarily i want it to get attention at shows. Of course pics of it installed will be uploaded as soon as I get the leds. ;]

It will be at least a few days, coming from china so.. shipping is always different, i might get the urge to mock them up this weekend in the blue, it just looks wrong since everything on my truck is red lol.

Ok, so my leds FINALLY came today the day before I leave town for a few days thankfully, unfortunately.... I ordered the lower 200-300mcd leds instead of the 800mcd ones I intended to get in my rush to order them =\, I'm still happy with the turnout though I would like them to be a little brighter and eventually I will more then likely redo them with brighter leds.

Anyway.. here it is, just like I said wired up to the trunk output of my alarm brain, through a series of 4 relays combined with 2 diodes to give me a - pulse to a latching on/off output.

After I get back next week, I want to see if I can put some leds in the side markers as well, I think it would look a little better carried over to both sets of lights.

Not to be rude but this looks like something that belongs on a 16 year olds Honda.

It really does look like it belongs on a Honda, and yet I'm still perfectly ok with that lol I was planning on entering some night shows so, the more "clean" looking light mods I can do, the better I will stand out. The thing I hate the most is seeing people slap strips of lights on things hanging all over the place, it looks cheap, and does take much thought or creativity in my opinion.

I think it looks pretty good but it defiantly needs to be on some clear headlights not the stockers.

x2.
I bet they'd be a lot brighter with clear headlights too. How clean are yours? maybe use that 3m kit to "restore" them.

I'm putting a Single 1watt led in each housing of mine. the black housings already have a hole that is capped off for this purpose. It will function as a DRL

It does look better in person, the lenses are yellowed and do need to be cleaned, I would rather have it on my stocks then aftermarket clears so the light is disbursed evenly through the lens instead of shining all through it, i dont think it would be as noticeable, but thats just my thoughts on it.
