i removed the fog light cover on my 08 2wd and ran a sealed flex tube up to the air box for ghetto iceman/ram air intake havent seen it pop up on other forums though roush on rps has/had something similar.

but when it comes to uniqueness VVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVVV

Thats a neat idea but the problem i see with it is that the flexes in the tube could cause a lot of resistance from turbulence causing less air flow.

Rain wouldnt be a big issue because it would have to travle all the way up the tube and through the air filter to damage anything but snow "if he was where it snowed" could clog the intake and starve the engine from air.

traction CHAINs instead of traction bars, the load on them is the same when truck is moving forward anyways, so why not? if nothing else, axle wrap is history, i realize they do nothing in reverse or while braking, but primarily, they are for when you are going forward. back mount is simply a peice of angle iron mounted to the top of the spring pack across two of the U-bolts.

for the front part of the chain mount i took a peice of angle iron and welded a gusset in, the end of the chain that attaches here has a eye bolt that goes through a hole in the top of this. it bolts to the rear side of the front spring hanger mount. i painted over everything with areosol bedliner spray.

NICE...This is one of my future mods to do as well. How does this stand up compared to the Herculiner stuff? I used the Herculiner in my dad's 96 Ranger bed and after a few months it started to flake/chip. Is this more durable against trail debris/branches?

Damn, I was gonna say the yellow driveshaft mod.

I have the various custom trail damage, but I think my most unique is the stupid chameleon flames. Too bad 5.0 swaps are common.

Does an EGR delete count?

Correction for my case - how about an EGR delete in which the EGR components have not been physically removed from the Ranger and appear to the eye to be hooked up and functional? ;-)

Really sweet idea, just don't go offroading with it. Suck up water like a straw, at least round these parts.

As far as mods, I think I might be the only one with a smittybuilt billet grille insert. Its looks pretty sweet and I get lots of compliments on it. I think its a discontinued part now, I picked it up cheap on ebay. I also have some strobes that the state of RI installed in my headlights before I owned my truck, though one burned out recently, and I don't know where to find a replacement.

those are overload springs, 1,200# rating. unloaded they dont even touch the frame so the truck still has a stock ride, at about 250-300 pounds in the bed they contact the frame.

I think he custom made those mounts. I've never heard of a Ranger with that from the factory
