use aluminum, any steel thats thick enough will be way too heavy. look up in your phone book for some local metal yard

I'm looking to get a skid plate also and would rather make one then buy one. Do you have a template to cut it out?
What are you going to use to fasten it/bend it?

well i am getting a bumper or a fame of a skid made, then i am going to take measurements off of that the cut it and bolt it on.

not sure if i will need bending, depends if i plan on curving it up any...it might just be flat

It's 1/2" steel square tubing with 3/16" aluminum diamond plate. It's not going anywhere, o and if anyone wants it i'm selling it.

Can one be made to mount behind the bumper, mainly for aesthetic uses but just in case...without having to cut or remove any part of the bumper

it would easily work for yours if thats wat yer asking...

cause all the years are almost alike, so only very minor ajustments would have to be made, if you can deal with that, you might be ok

Thanks, dude... you rock fully and completely...so I'm guessing it's just bolt on and no cutting/drilling has to be made??

I like my stock steel one, if I bash the hell outta it, then I'll worry bout making a new one thats heavier duty...I've already beaned all sorts of rocks and dirt and its just scratched up...so far so good.
