It had 190000 hard miles on it. The body was shot. Engine had a miss and the glowplugs/relay were toast. The engine was the easy fix. New injectors and glow plugs would have probably fixed that. Now the body was another story. The truck was honestly just nickel and diming me to death.

How are you liking the 6.0? Like it any more than the 7.3?

I like both of the engines. My 6.0L is a lot more quiet than my old 7.3l. I am liking my new truck so far. It is pretty powerful and a lot smoother. I have only had it 2 days and haven't got to drive it much since I work 12hour shifts.

I am not scared from buying this 6.0L. They just got a bad wrap when they first came out. I will address the problems such as egr cooler and adding a coolant filter from dieseltsite. Also included in my deal was a 3 year fullt powertrain warranty. That includes all transmission work, turbocharger, head gaskets, etc.

My boss's friend has an 03 4x2 king ranch that looks just like that one. It was one of the very first trucks to come out with the 6.0 and he's hardly had any problems with it. Head gaskets, EGR system, turbo, and oil cooler are all stock and untouched. He's pushing 170,000 miles and tows with it every single day. I'd say thats pretty good since its an early 6.0

All depends on how the truck is used. diesels like to be worked and used for a long time. No quick trips or sitting around for years.

Most of the guys that have issues are not using them like a diesel should be used.

I was thinking about keeping that grill but I let it go with the truck. I will probably do an 05-07 front end swap on this one down the road. The old grill had a small crack in it along the bottom from hitting a deer.
