1998 Ranger motor

I have a 1998 Ranger with 300,000 miles with a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder and I'm going to have to replace the engine soon.

My question is will the newer 2.2 liter engine fit?

Thanks!

Chuck

Well first off congrats on having the original engine last that many miles. The newer 4 cyl is acually a Duratec 2.3. yes it would fit but i'm sure you are going to have to do a lot of rewiring.

Oh yeah forgot about trannys, The Lima 4's used a 4-speed auto, the Duratec 4 uses a 5-speed one.
