2003 Ranger XLT Supercab 4x4
Hello everyone,
I am new to Rangers and am looking at a 2003 XLT 4x4 supercab w/162K miles. Its in stock form, clean and seems to be well maintained. Not concerned about price ($4k range) as much as I am about what to look for in this truck with regards to problems especially given the mileage.
Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!
Joe

auto or manual?
3.0 V6 or 4.0 V6?
does the seller have any history of the truck? receipts of previous maintenance?
by that mileage suspension parts should have been replaced at least once. CVs, ball joints, upper control arms, hubs. the rear axle pinion seal should also have been or needs replaced.
I'm just trying to remember different stuff that 01-03 Rangers commonly have replaced by 150k. fluids are defiantly due. if it's manual the clutch should have been replaced due to slave cylinder failure which is common.
