Yah, I was giving him crap.

MANY issues with the shift motor have been documented countless times.
Yeah, in a sense, but not really. This is a ranger forum. There are many people who come here just for help with their problems. Nobody posts "GOSH IM HAPPY WITH MY ELECTRONIC SHIFT GUYS!", but, they do post if there is a problem. So simply you only see one side of the case. Judging by the 70 million rangers in America (made up number), if it were an actual problem there'd be a lot more threads.

the reason for the electric shift is that the general public is lazy and stupid. manual t-cases take effort and common sense to operate.[/QUOTE]
Yah that's true.

well how bout this. i replaced many many shift motors on explorers, rangers, and F150s while i was a tech. all the same motor.

its a common issue, jus cause you havent seen it on your two trucks out of the 70million out there doesnt mean they are perfect.

I wouldn't mind having the t-case shifter, but since both have 'combined' bottom plates, there's no seperation. :(

OMG! You're right! Who'd ever expect a mechanic to notice problems with vehicles brought to him! It's like....totally shocking that you ever saw a vehicle with problems.

Gosh this is fun.

Two Lo would be nice too....Form follows function. Wouldn't be able to run center caps or only on the rears. That wouldn't look sweet. lol

The pieces in that auction will only work correctly in 2002 FX4's and 2003 FX4 level II's. With a bit of modification, some trim pieces not included in the auction, and a new manual transfer case....you could probably pull it off.

I just want the leather boot to the tranny lever, the bezel, and the t-case lever LOL Who wants the tranny lever? Too bad I'm gonna be out of town, other wise I'd bid. Oh well, I'll keep looking for them and a manual t-case to swap in.

Hell, I'd pay 200-250, maybe more given what Ford wants! See Bob's reply above.

The silver trim has a crack and both shift ***** are cloudy and scratched. I dunno, if I'd go through all that trouble then I'd find donor parts in better condition.

Unless you're doing a manual tcase conversion, the bidder probably only wants the tranny shifter/****. What's that new? $200-$250?

*edit* well, maybe not. the same person bought a front and rear(4x4) driveshaft. 04edge maybe? Also bought a set of 15x10 AR Rims.

Someone got a good deal. I intended to bid on them at the last minute but was in a meeting and forgot.

If whoever won is reading this and does not plan to use the T-case lever, PM me
