Dash Light bulb replacement procedure?

I have a 2007 Ranger. The light that illuminates the heat/air/vent selector has burned out! It makes it real hard to see what is selected at night-especially on the right half of the selector dial. How do I best get behind the panel to change the bulb. I am afraid of busting the plastic bezel if I just start yanking or prying on it. Thank you all in advance for any help you can provide in this question.!

Welcome to the forum! There are two screws in the bezel right above the HVAC controls. Remove those and you can remove the entire bezel by pulling straight out from the dashboard GENTLY. There are some spring clips that hold the upper part of the bezel. Pull it out far enough to disconnect the radio, cig. lighter, fogs and 4x4. Once the bezel is out of the way, there are 4 screws holding the HVAC controls assembly. Remove those and you can pull it out far enough to see two black twist connectors. These have #194 bulbs in them. Twist counter clockwise to remove the connector, then you can pull the bulb straight out of it. Replace both bulbs with new and install them with a clockwise twist. Reverse the procedure to put everything back. Probably 15 - 20 minutes tops. HTH :)

Howard,
How did the BRP go ? (Bulb Replacement Procedure)
Did you get it done, and did you use LED Bulbs for replacement ?

Scrambler,

Marko7 was the one who was going to replace the bulbs. I had done mine previously with LEDs, but I have since replaced my manual HVAC controls with EATC, which take a completely different type of bulb and replacement procedure. :)

Well, that you can do. It takes a total of 8 #194 LEDs for the main lighting (6 for the cluster and 2 for the HVAC). Keep in mind, that is the back lighting. Some of the idiot bulbs are a different number... can't recall the number at the moment though.
