You havent seen those. They have some with a container in the middle of that coil that is copper in a tube with oil. They say it get the best signal but i still like my 8 footer

 

I think it looks stupid personally, all the black people around here but those on.

 

Where can I get a cheap whip? I'm looking for something pretty long.

I don't think they stock the 6'+ whips... I did see a 3' but nothing longer.

 

Those are what serious HAM radio operators run. I am happy with my little 1/8 wave antenna for 2 meter personally. Makes the truck look like an LGM from Toy Story.. hehe

 

You can get them off their website, or sometimes they have 102" whip in the back, just ask them.

The one pictured above looks like a Predator 10K antenna, while it does look ugly. It is one of the best antenna's on the market, unless your running some serious power the 102" is just as good.

Make sure you get the 6" spring from Radio shack also, which will make it 108".
Then it will be a full 1/4 wave antenna

i think the one in the picture is called monkey made antenna and for cb radios. two whips on a truck isnt un comon in the open areas like texas
