Thinking about a hitch mounted motorcycle rack - opinions?
Looking at one of these:
http://www.discountramps.com/smc-600...cle-hauler.htm
The rack will carry my bikes, but will my truck? The bike is right at 500 lbs. Can't seem to find any info on how much carrying weight the Rannger will handle. I'm using a 2" Curt tubular hitch BTW.

it will be fine. that is how i used to take my bike around when i had the exploder. my bike only weighs around 250 though, but i could stand and jump on the carrier with the bike on it and it didnt budge at all. mine was built be me though and your link didnt work for me so i cant be sure of what you are looking at.

I think as long as it doesnt go over the tongue weight it should be fine. I think that is what you go buy with those type of racks.
Im guessing your talking about one this?

Let's see if this link works:
The SMC-600 Motorcycle Hauler at Discount Ramps.Com
I've done a little looking, and these guys appear to be pretty solid. Not really worried about the carrier itself.
