Got a FREE toolbox, but in bad shape! PICS! UPDATE ON TRUCK NOW!

Ok, so my girlfriend's dad had a Delta tool box on his Ranger back in the day. He has had it sitting out behind the barn for several years now. He told me the other day I could have it if I wanted it, I went and looked at it and was like heck no! I started looking around for a low profile black diamond plate box and saw that the average one ran 289-329. I said, well, maybe I can make do with his box. I brought it home and started cleaning it on one corner with some stuff you can buy from Lowe's in the toolbox section. It worked ok, but I wanted better results. Went to AutoZone and bought some stuff called Blue Magic and a Mother's PowerBall. Well, you can see the results below. I will be adding pics of it on my truck later today, if I don't like the way it looks, being as it isn't low profile and not black, then I will just sell it. On to the pics!

The Delta Low-pro tool box I have was about $209 when I bought it. Box it looking good, but still to tall imo.

Trigger... In my opinion it's too tall as well, but for 209 bucks, it serves it's purpose and I think I MIGHT be able to deal with it : )

Could always paint it black..

I mean they got BBQ spray paint out there for grills, sticks to just about anything...

It's a flat black, and looks like some of those BBQ/Smokers

That's an idea... because I'm sure a powdercoating shop would charge and arm and a leg, but there is no telling. Ryan, tomorrow we are hitting up the junk yard. I actually have a couple new junkyards in mind too if Frank has time. Maybe we will get lucky and find a Level II LOL.

True, I believe I am going to keep it. It looks better than I thought. I figured a regular height tool box in chrome would be too much, maybe not.

invest in some flitz polish, then use it with the powerball. that always gave me the best finish on my old toolbox.

Those are kinda sold, plus with the tool box and all, I think they make my truck a little too "busy."

I say keep it and maybe spray it iwht some bedliner kits, or flat black paint... I remeber plasti-kote sold a paint that had a rough feel to it used for alot of heavy duty stuff, and even sub boxes... I have a toolbox in my backyard from my old ranger and wanna use it but it needs new lifts and polishing wont help it because it has some weird pitting so I might paint it...
