I have sinned....Test Drove a '09 Rubicon

I couldn't help it. I went by the dealer and hopped in a '09, 6speed Rubicon. E-lockers, Electronic sway disconnect, manual trans, manual transfer case, hard top that pops off, 4:1 4-lo ratio, can go up to like 2 1/2' of water in it, factory KM2s, factory GOOD skids and rock sliders....hard to pass up.

I think my days of being a Ranger owner have peaked and are on a countdown. Dealership offered $6,500 for my Ranger...but thats not enough for me to bite. I strongly think I can get near $9,000 for it in this region. Used car guy said he had 3 people looking for a lifted 2wd mid-size pickup and would probably give more if I'd buy the Jeep today. I do have to de-mod it some before though.

4 or 2 door?

Don't back down on what you want for your Ranger (price wise).

Bumper is welded to the frame right now. I could still rig the Edge valance on it and cut the bumper off...but I think it's going with the truck. There are a few things that are going "for" selling my truck out here. big one is the bumper. People out here love bumpers on lifted trucks lol.

2-door. I was expecting about 6k from them for my truck. But I know I can sell it for more, and not owe more than I have to on my loan! (I'd pay it off)

You think you can get more for a 3.0L 2wd regular cab? I would go for it!

Absolutely..You don't live in the Desert my friend. 2wd's + Ranger = "pre-runner" in everyones book. It's really what people are looking for. And since I'm in no hurry to sell...I can hold out.

My truck in Las Vegas, and my Truck in Florida are two totally different values.

LOL. Pretty much. I'm going to an offroad race this weekend and my truck stands out since its the only one without white fenders and a front lift. Oh yeah its 4wd too. None of the bros out there know what that is.

I'm not sure how you can compare a F150 and a Jeep? totally different playing fields. I'm going with a jeep for

A)Aftermarket Accessories/Backup
B)SIZE, there are trails out here that if you were the only one in a full size, the little Rangers and Jeeps will leave your ***. Just too big.
C)I don't really need to haul anything (toys). And if I did, I wouldn't buy a gas burner (Cummin's FTW)
D)It's a freakin Jeep. lol. I wouldn't buy a plain jane one though, Rubicon is what I'm lookin for!

if you get one is it going to be new? they only bad things I have herd about the 07- 09 jeeps is that they have less torque than the older ones because they went with a 3.8L instead of the 4.0L. I've only had my 06 rubicon for about a month and its amazing how capable they are with all the options they come with from the factory

Guess Ranger's purposes to many are a "stepping stone". You either figure you want a Jeep, or a Full Size lol

I know what you mean. I love those new 09 F150's but I have put too much into my truck at this point and want to enjoy it. But good luck on finding a good Jeep they are fun to wheel.

Thats my problem lol. I want a jeep but I know I'll offroad it and beat it up. Then I want a F-150 so I can actually carry people and still have the bed to use. I can't decide.

I think I'm with ya on this one. I don't want a Heep...and though I'd like a fullsize, I don't want the associated cost with it.

Ranger makes sense for me.
