Well the 07 will prob never rust..
Because yesterday I finally rustproofed the whole thing..
Tore apart the doors, inside the tailgate and all, I bought a gallon of the clear rustproofing and a gallong of the black undercoating, inside the doors gate and inside the hood I sprayed the clear stuff even dropped the plastic inner fenders and sprayed the clear stuff even pulled the the rubber piece between the cowl and door and sprayed up in there.
Then I went underneath and sprayed every since piece thats painted and the frame spent 3 hours underneath there spraying it its defintely not going to rust like my 98 did.
Then I took a brush and the black undercoating and did the wheel well lips, bottom of the tailgate and the bottom of the bed where you can see when u drop the tailgate also brushed the bottom of the doors with the undercoating so they wont rust. It was nice seeing where my 98 rusted and knowing the common places so I could prevent and get them esp good on the 07.
Now this isnt the can stuff you buy at autozone, Got this stuff at a paint store my dad has a rusproofing gun that sprays the stuff using his air compressor it sucks it up from the gallon jug of stuff then goes trhough the gun its definitely professional grade stuff he spent a pretty penny buying it but he did his cars as well in the past and since i have a new truck might as well get it done so it will never rust.
I feel accomplished and definitely protecting my investment now that its rustproofed. Went through a gallon of the clear stuff and a gallon and half on the bottom.
Most people take their cars to get rustproofed but my dad and I felt we would get a better job done than they would do and knowing its done right and wont rust is a great feeling.

The whole truck got it good though I tell you I went through alot of the stuff and the bottom is completely black and so is every panel that is on the bottom of the truck. The whole frame got a new coating as well the inner of it and tranny crossmembers and everything you can imagine this isnt a spray can rustproof job.

I just ordered an 'Undercoating System Gun' with 2- 24" extensions from Eastwood. I'm a believer in rustproofing and using this gun and 'Rust Check' I plan on doing to my '08 pretty much what you described. I'm not going to use the black, tar-like undercoating, just the thin, oily rustproofing that soaks into the seams of the body. It sounds like you did a great job. Do you know the name of the clear rustproofing you used? Did you have to drill any access holes to get inside any panels?

mine is rusting in the slots above the ext cab windows...
the piant chipped for some reason, took the primer off with it and then rusted
im getting little rust speckles on my doors and hood too
you wont notice em till you get within 2 inches but then it looks like rust confetti got stuck on there

On a job like this, a mask would be a very good idea. Even a simple dust mask would help catch the 'atomized' particles before they get into one's circulation.
In the right light conditions, one can see this fine mist in the air of rustproofing centers as men do their job.
Two part-timers in this business have a type of shake or nervous tremor which could be work-related.

I'll get a name of the stuff I used, as for spraying the inside body panels I took the doors off pulled the plastic that sticks to the doors ford applies at the factory and sprayed in then put everything back together, pulled the panel in the tailgate and sprayed in and for the hood i dropped the black piece and sprayed in there. The drain holes are clear and not clogged as well.
And i wore a respirator when i was spraying the **** is nasty to inhale.
