I just purchased an X3 programmer used but i am having problems connecting it to my truck.
If i go under device info the:
FW version is 1.2.1.22
tune version is NoPreload2
unlocks left are 5
device UnMarried

My truck is a 1999 Ford Ranger 2wd Auto w/3.0

I believe the truck that had it last was an 06 F250 deisel w/6.0

What am I doing wrong?

 

what does the display show? was it tuned for your truck after it came out of the previous truck?

 

I believe it still tuned for the diesel because the max red line is only for 5750 rpm. It come up with an error code of i try to program(im not sure which one), but if i hit Strategy tune it said "Strategy tune not supported".

I also cannot tell if its unlocked or not.

 

You need tunes for your own truck. I'm pretty sure since it says device umarried that means its unlocked.

so where are the best places to get the X3 programed
