Lift questions

Alright guys im new here. I plan on putting leaf springs in the rear to give my truck some more ground clearance and was wondering if I had to do anything to the front like add new springs or anything? Any help is appreciated.

"Have to"? No. Haha. But you might want to.

You have coil springs and I beams up front. If I'm not mistaken, you can run up to 2" of lift with that setup before you need drop brackets to be a be able to align it. You can do this with coil spacers or lift coils.

Odds are your truck sits lower in the front as it is, so depending on how much you lift the rear, 2" might not be enough to level the truck. If that's the case, there are several companies that make 4" lift kits for your truck (rough country, Sky jacker, super lift, etc) which may be something to look into.

Say I do put 3in leaf spring kit in the back what size coil spacers should I go with? And I have looked into actual suspension kits but their a little pricey for me

I went with a 4" spindle and a 2" shackle in the rear and it looks really good. I'll post a pic later

You really can't do much more than 2" without the drop brackets, otherwise you won't be able to align the front end correctly. So, if you lift the rear 3" and the front 2", you'll have an inch of rake ( plus whatever take you have now).

Alright thank you I might do 2in in back and front then do a 3 in body. With just the 2 in suspension any idea on maximum tire size I could do?

It depends on spring sag/rim width/rim back spacing. But, I'd imagine somewhere in the 32x11.50 range

I'd never go that big but I might do some 27s cause that's the biggest I've found for 14in rim

Oh wow, completely missed you had a 2nd gen (for some reason I thought you had a 3rd gen).

I'm a little less well versed in 2nd gens, but I'd think you could clear 30s with 2" of lift.

Of course that might require new wheels.

I've been trying to find some stock 15s but nobody seems to be selling any but I don't think I'll go any bigger than 30
