May be getting some LII Alcoas, Need Opinions!!

I have been debating getting some new 17" ballistic jesters for my truck but it's getting close to winter so i was going to just get some winter tires for now, paint my wheels and use them as a winter set and get some new wheels for next summer. The guy i bought my level II parts truck off had taken the factory alcoas off already and said they were not for sale (I think his son wanted them or something). But he called my friend yesterday who lives by him and asked him to get ahold of me to see if I still wanted them. He wants $300 for them and my friend said if I buy them he will buy my wheels for $200. But I still kind of want some 17's with more offset to make them stick out past the fenders a little and it's a shame to just have these alcoas for winter wheels, so now i have a bit of a dilemma. I am thinking about just getting some all terrains and wheel spacers for the alcoa's and driving them all year round and forgetting about the 17's for now. Or putting winter tires on them and carrying on with my original plan but with alcoas as winter wheels rather than my current factory wheels.
Few questions:
Anybody have experience with wheel spacers? to they kill wheel bearings as i think they would?
And what color would the alcoas on a 05 Sonic Blue Level II be? polished or dsg?

thanks guys!!!

I have wheel spacers on the back of my Mustang, and they work fine. I don't have any experience with them on the front though.
The Alcoa's won't be DSG or polished, those are on the 06+. They'll be the plain aluminum finish ones.

Another thing, will my factory wheels and the alcoas have the same offset?

I think i know what i am going to do. The alcoas will be better winter wheels because they wont get clogged with snow like my current wheels do. Ice and snow always builds up between the spokes and throw the wheels out, i always have to clean them out so they will be balanced. And I found what tires I am getting, Goodyear Wrangler DuraTrac's http://www.goodyear.ca/goodyeartires...ter=&sidewall= they are supposedly really good in the ice and snow, and they look more MT than most winter tires!!
I am excited now!! but i wish i could fit the 33x12.5's on my truck but i think i would have some rubbing issues and wide tires aren't as good for winter traction, going to go with the 31x10.5's
Should i Paint the Brushed aluminum alcoa's or paint them black?

I would leave the Alcoa's the way they are, and sell them to me. I like the look of the aluminum Alcoa's just the way they are. It's all personal preference I guess.
