this is what ive been getting for the last 3 fill ups

DATE MILES GAS/GAL PRICE MPG
MAR. 9 301 16.49 1.78 18.25
MAR. 19 333 18.06 1.79 18.48
MAR. 25 312.7 16.858 1.99 18.54

everytime ive filled up divide the miles on the trip meter by the amount of gas it took to fill the tank to 19.5 galons. and my scan gague is off by like. .2-.3 mpg

today apr. 4 shes getting another full tank

Same here.

For the lack of gas mileage i'm getting I should have a 450HP muscle car or something.

sooo question.. any of you that have larger tires than factory recalibrate your speedo/tach before trying to figure your gas milage? it makes quite the difference when running a full tank to empty then using your milage.

just curious

on my XLT 3.0 5spd the stock speedometer would read a little fast with the stock tires. with the calculations, it said it would get just over 21mpg.

With the 235/75 15s that i had on it, it said it would read just SLIGHTLY slow.. after that it would get around 19.7ish mpgs. All of the speed readings were compared to my GPS, so who knows how accurate it really was, but its a start.

My new truck reads about right. it is slightly off though. i dont remember which way offhand.

Yeah the thing i hear most Is my 1500 Chevvy makes better gas millage than your compact Ranger.

I always use the yah well im sick of pulling out you kind of people with your chev's. Junk! Im sure if I sat 2 '' off the ground i could make 25mpg too

Being retired with lots of time on my hands, I've been checking my mileage for the last 17K plus miles. About the last 3 years. I have an ext cab, 3.0, with auto and stock 3.73 gears. I tack about 2600-2700 RPM at 70 MPH. My best tank during that time was 21.7. That was almost all highway at about 70-75 MPH. Mostly on cruise control. Worst was 13.6, all city driving. Probably a bunch of full throttle, jack rabbit starts on that one. Usually I get about 19-20 on the highway and about 15 around town. Overall average for 17K miles is 16.9.
Two things: 1:About 75-80% of my driving is around town. So I think my overall MPG would be 1 or 2 MPG higher if it where a 50/50 mix.
2:My truck is probably 700-800 lbs heavier than stock because of the hard tonneau cover and all the sound proofing and audio equipment I have.

I went 100 miles down the highway and then calibrated it. When I went to the 265/75/16 it was only 2.33% off. I had the 245/75/16 stock.

I got 25mpg last fill up. Although I think this fillup will show a bit less mpgs as I've done 80 miles so far and I'm a little over half full haha
