Icon10 My sweet LED in the console mod.

I had the console out while I was doing my dynamatt project so I decided on a little console LED mod. What I did was to put an LED light inside of the console so that when I open the console up it switches the light on to provide sight for whatever I need. I am really happy with the results. I used a 6000K "cool white" LED module, which is the same color as my HID's, LED domelight, and Reverse bulbs. It looks schweet. I bought 2 of these LED pods thinking that I would use both for this mod but they are so bright that I only used 1. I have the other one as extra, I dont know what to do with it yet.

I like a hyper white more than the "6000k blue" at least for things like LEDs for the dash or seeing stuff at night... Just easier IMO

6000K is more white with a tint of blue, 8000K is more blue.

Your thinking of 5500K-5000K

My HID's are 6000K, they really don't look blue, unless I see them reflecting back at my through windows on a building or off of someones trunk.

your right, 5500K is easier to see, but 6000K isn't much different. Much prettier IMO.

How are you rating your LEDs in terms of "K"?

I think we're the biggest LED ****** on this forum haha

How? They don't make these? Unless they're the knock off HID's.... In which case yah because they wouldn't come with a ballast. Nothing is HID unless it comes with a ballast.

I did something similar, I put a light in my tissue holder of the explorer console so it shines on the cup holders.
