Do these exist for rangers? When I had my alignment done the mentioned they had to set the camber all the way positive and it's just barely within spec. Said adjustable control arms would be a good idea.

 

I dunno, I do know of a member that has 2 piece UCA. I talked to him about them once but I don't remember if they were stock or part of his lift kit.

You can buy a camber bolt kit to help. A couple members have them and I was considering getting them when I did my c/o conversion but never did.

 

Buy ingalls camber kits and you're good to go. I haven't seen any adjustable control arms

 

Are you running adjustable camber bolts? AKA Cam bolts? Stock bolts aren't adjustable.

Needing to set all the way positive makes sense....torsion bars cranked up, tires go negative camber.

As far as I know, adjustable upper control arms don't exist for 4x4's. I know the prerunner guys have the option of the uni-ball tubular uppers, but they don't work on a 4x4. I've seen guys that run keys or heavily cranked coil-overs actually move the upper control arm mounts on the frame more outward to get a perfect alignment. But if the shop said yours is within spec, roll with it.

 

98-02 passenger side upper control arms were 2 piece. So you could add spacers between the two parts to help in camber adjustments. But unfortunately, they cannot be swapped to the driver's side as the mounts are different and A-arm shape is different.



I suggest cam bolts on anything other than stock.....lifted or lowered. Mine wasn't align-able without them.

kinda figured there werent. i googled quickly and saw nothing.

i told them to get some camber bolts when they emailed me, but they said they wouldnt help. so i told em to play with the torsion bolts to get it in spec.

so ill get some cam bolts and take it somewhere else when i crank my bars a bit more to get level.

 

Sounds like they don't know what they're doing. I don't know if you have places like this up there, but I go to dedicated frame and alignment shops. I end up paying considerably more than random tire-alignment-brake shop, but I know I'm going to those dedicated to the subject and feel it's worth it.

I'm not bad mouthing all fix-it-all shops, just the few who don't know what they're doing.

 

its the dealership. i only go there for oil changes because of my engine warranty requires it.
and i only go there for things i cant do myself because its close lol.

but i think its time to stop. they seem to not know what the **** they're doing. between the whole rear end pinion bearing fiasco and now this (took em 3.5 hours to align the front end, and they had to balance my tires twice before they got it right.)

i think it will be worth it to drive 1.5 hours one way to a place that knows what theyre doing lol.

just priced out new control arms, bushings, and cam bolts on rockauto. $150 before shipping. need some OT lol

 

Agreed, I go to the same guy and its been around for a while.

 

I've looked for adjustable uppers as well.

My truck doesn't sit as high as it should, or even as high as the previous owner of the kits' truck did. I have the adjustable camber bolts but I'm maxed out and can't lift the truck any higher.

I talked to an offroad shop and he doesn't know what to do besides cut and remount the uppers. I might go that route. I just don't understand why I can't even sit as high as the guy who was running the exact kit I installed on my truck.
