like the title says im trying to make a list of things i need to do a 5.0 swap and i want to keep my truck manual when i do the swap and i dont want to use the stock tranny its to much work IMO and to much if risk to make it work. so can i get a t5 tranny to bolt to a 1354 tcase

I know a t-5 will bolt to a ranger
a t-5 out of an s-10 will not bolt to a 5.0, the bellhousing is different.
I dont beleive a t-5 was ever made with a SBF bellhousing that could accept a t-case.
if your heart is set on a t-5, you could run a divorced t-case but i dont think i t-5 is worth that much trouble

The reason alot of people use the T5 is that they're easy to find and modify and rebuild. Plus they're very affordable and you can get one at your local salvage yard and it's a tough transmission. the only other option you have is to call Tremec tell them what you need and what you're doing and just buy a brand new tranny and ask about a transfer case. Pretty much the T5 is what 95% of people use in a V8 swap on the ranger. The other 5% uses either the C4 or C5 trannys.

Did you chck out the links that I posted for you? If not here they are: www.mercuranger.com or www.v8ranger.com . That is why I'm doing something different with my truck because the 4.6/5.0 swap has been done to death. If you use a serch engine and enter Ford Ranger V8 swap it will pop up at least 100 pages of websites with info.

here's 2 more links for you: www.gearstar.com or www.tremec.com check these guys out. Call them tell them what you're looking for and go from there. That's about all that I can tell you to be perfectly honest. Hope that helps some.
