What wrench sizes to remove hinge and striker from 2006 bed

My 2006 did not have any of the hinge or the striker as it had a service camper on back.
I am going to pull it yard tomorrow and dont want to lug a whole box.
What size bolt heads are the hinge bracket that is attached to the bed? and the striker and the cable stud that holds the tail gate up?

T-50 Torx bit.
take a hammer and a flat chisel and smack the to and bottom of the bolt before attempting to remove. you need to break it free.

It may also have loc-tite on it.

Dang it. I hate those torx heads. Mostly cause I bought some cheap duracrap ones and the heads keep breaking off. Lifetime warranty dont do diddly for ya when you need that part to come off.

I got a cordless impact so that helps and hurts ..

Well I went and checked. Its a 47 torx.... 50 will not fit in, even with a hammer. I need a bigger hammer I guess.

The next size down is a T45.
Does your bit have 8 points or 6 points?
double check both bit and screw. i've seen it come both ways.

I am 100% on the 47. For those that doubt just do a quick search on line you will see.
Its 47 on the upper striker bolts
and 50 for the hinge bolts.

Tip for those that find this post in a future search. In the U pull it yard the screws are VERY tight and hard to start turning. Once they do it easily comes out. I found that if you find a power steering reservoir you can get some of that fluid and drop a few drops on the back side of the screws, JY normally drains all the trans and engine oil. but some of the PS is still in there. I used a dip stick to get a little it makes it easy to snake down in whole to oil th threads. Easy to see them thru the tail light hole. Let the fluid set for a while smack the screws with hammer to vibrate a little of that oil into the threaded part. I ran off without any penetrate oil so I had to make do.
