open rear end spun two?

leavin a trail today i was be hind my buddys f250 on 40s and he stops and powerbrakes it. well we were joking around on the phone and he goes "your truck wont even spin them tires over" so i slam on the breaks, drop it to 1st pushed in the break and floored it and i suddenly feel my rear end slide to the right! i couldnt believe it actually spun both on pavement! but its suposed to be open differential? i dont get it? did i just get lucky or was it from high rpms?

its a common trick because when you have pressure on the diff it will cause both to spin. it will never do that if youre just spinning on ice/snow without the brakes on

Just pulling off a trail, were you tires full of mud or dirt? I have a LS rear, so in times like that both my rear tires spin as well.

when both tires have equally no traction they will both spin. However when one does have traction, the only one will spin

I spin both often with my open rear. Even with an open rear, power goes to both wheels, just they are allowed to turn at different speeds. So 1 wheel with grip + one with out = one wheel peel. 2 wheels with little or no grip = elevensies.
