Headlights

has anyone had this experience, I drove home tonight headlights on Low beam.at 5:45 I stop to get gas and when I started the truck back up the headlights would only work in high beam, I turned off the lights three times while driving and the low beams would not come on, I work at Sears partime so I got 2 new halogen bulbs for the truck, Since I am the second owner of the truck i do not have the Owners manual, but I have the PDF on the Computer at home
it was dark so I fighured I would run the lights on the way home in High beam and **** all the other drivers off, start the truck at 9:15 I turned on the lights and the damn lowbeams came back on a were on the etinre 5 miles home

sounds like the multi-function switch might be acting up

check a fuse because last week i could only get my break lights to work and ended up being the fuse up in the engine

The switch at stated, or loose connector, water, corrosion, wiring crimped. Doesn't sound like you have an open fuse if the lights work again.
A wiggle test will help, turn the lights on and wiggle wires, or the connector to see if they turn off again.

Is there a relay for the high/low headlights? I can't believe the headlights go through the headlight sw. or the low/high column sw.

Yes they do, the contacts inside could be worn as well. That's a very easy check with a multimeter.
A worn relay will cause those symptoms, so that may be it. Check everything else over still.

if it is a fuse you will not have any dash lights. i found out from a dealer about that one so if no dash light means its a fuse if your dash lights work then check conectors

If ford is still using the same circuit design in the 2006 as they did in the 2001 the power flow is from a 30 amp fuse in the BJB that feeds both low and high beams. The low beam circuit splits to the light switch, which then routes power through the multifunction switch, then back to two fuses (RH & LH low beam) in the BJB, then on to the individual headlamps. The high beam power runs from the same 30 amp fuse directly to the multifunction switch, then back to another fuse in the BJB, and then to both high beams.

Most likely cause: bad connection, light switch, multifunction switch.
