people here **** me off with the way they treat motorcyclists .... im a rider myself but im not old enough to ride by myself ... (i only have a class m permit) ... when im driving i will intentionally pull behind a motorcycle just to back off and create a safe space for him to manuever and evade a collision if needed ... motorcyclists deserve respect so i give it to them

Cell phones shouldn't be used on the road period.
Even with a hands-free kit, the driver is still distracted with the call instead of the road. What's worse is that the other person on the call cannot detect situations that might cause trouble and stop the conversation... Talking to people that are IN the car is a different story 'cause while they are talking, they can still see what's going on and if there's an "OH SHYTE" moment, they'll pause the conversation right away.

I prefer them not intruding on what I do in my car or other aspects of my life....
I am perfectly capable on making the decision on which is more important: the phone call or my paying attention while driving. Don't punish the smart ones for the idiots out there's problems. If you're an idiot who can barely drive as it is, no way in hell should you have a cell phone to your ear or even a radio playing in the car. But if you're smart and attentive to what's really important, I feel you should have every right to have that phone to your ear. That's how I look at it.

^^I AGREE!!! Not only that, it's ALWAYS women I see all over the damn road ON their cell phones!!!
I like the idea of keeping others on the road safe.....but seriously, I can't stand it because I am perfectly capable of being safe and doing it and not being stupid. Coming from a delivery truck/construction background, it was almost required to be on the phone with customers or bosses or getting directions. So see my dillema? lol.

But unfortunately, MOST people cannot seem to grasp the fact that the road is more important than the call. I saw a driver today using his cell phone on the highway AND taking notes on a pad on the center console.... THAT shyte pisses me off. And it was in a construction zone to boot.

I'm from Indiana originally and we don't have cell phone laws. Then I joined the military and moved to NC, and then to CA, both have cell phone laws and so does being aboard base. I hated the cell phone laws at first, and they still kind of irritate me, but I find myself getting more irritated when I see someone driving like a retard, then pull up beside them, and what do ya know... they're on a cell phone driving like a moron. But then again, CA drivers in general are just terrible.
