I need some help ASAP

well im working on getting my tcase and tranny out of my truck so i can put a new clutch in my truck.

i got all the bolts out the tcase but that alignment pin wont release from the tcase.

can i heat up that part of the tcase so it will release.?

also i can get my manifold to y pipe bolts to break loss. im using an impact that has 700 lbs of rev tq. i sprayed them with pb blaster. on wendsday and they have been sitting and soaking since them

i know i can heat them im just trying to figure out a why to get a torch in there.

any helpful advice would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

I've always supported mine with a jack and it just came off with a little wiggling. You might have to get downright mean with a hammer though?? Not sure..

As for getting a torch in there, if you're worried about getting a flame/heat on anything, old license plates, and thin sheetmetal of any kind comes in really handy for quick homemade heat shields. Bend em to fit. Just watch that torch anywhere close to a fuel tank or fuel lines, etc..

use a jack and jack it up and down... with an older truck like yours the trans probably has not been out for a while... or ever, so you will need to break the corrosion bond between parts. usually jacking it higher will break it free

well my tcase has been in less than a year ago and my tranny was out 3 years ago as of aug. but i got my tcase out i just heated the alignment sleeve a little and wiggled like hell and it came right out. as for my y pipe i got 3 of the 4 bolts out snapped on off right at the head of the bolts so i have a nice long stud im going to weld a nut onto and then heat the hell out of the manifold and try and turn it out again and pray it doesnt break again. but all in all the tranny is ready to come out all the bell housing bolts are loss. tomorrow after work my tranny will be out. then replaceing the rear main seal then installing new fly wheel and clutch.
