the drums are 10 INCH drums (254mm) the max diameter of a ranger 10" drum in millimeters is 256.29mm

micrometers can measure in MM or thousanths of an inch, a brake micrometer for newer drums measures in millimeters

The drum is marked with a minimum allowable thickness. This is a 4 digit number. My number fell below that thus the replacement of the drums versus being allowed to turn them.
