So I got an OBD II for my birthday last week! YaY! I finally got around to going out and plugging it into my truck, only to get NOTHING! Wont even turn on. I tried it in my dads F-150 and it worked fine. So therefore its my truck. Any ideas?

Check fuse #17. It is shared between the OBDII Data Link Connector and the lighter.

Thats exactly what I needed to do. Actually for some reason, I had no fuse in 17...idk.

Anyways. Pulled the code and it says

P0442- EVAP Emissions Control System Leak (small)

anyone have a diagram of the evap system???

Mine came up with the same code a few months ago, which is why I purchased the OBD scanner.
Turned out that my gas cap was loose, which causes the evap code.
Try re-tightening the gas cap and clear the code. If the code comes back, I'll find the evap diagnostics on my Factory Maint CD.

That makes sense George. Loss of pressure in the fuel tank/lines/etc.

If his Body lift was installed recently, that may be a cause also. Maybe tighten the clamps from the extensions you made to the fuel filler neck.
