Caliper Slide Pins

Caliper Slide Pins
I'm changing the brakes on my 2004 Ford Ranger 4x4 with 3.0. In my haste I removed the slider pins and not sure if the slider pin with the rubber boot on the end of it is suppose to go on the top or bottom of the caliper. It's not the boot near the head of the bolt but at the bottom and looks like an elongated o-ring.
Thanks,
Zach

Oh I figured this out, the caliper bracket is the same part on both sides of the truck. On the passenger side it's on the bottom and the driver side it's on the top. Just FYI.
I got everything installed and bedded the brakes in. I drove to work today and so glad not to hear high pitched squealing at every stop. I sounded like a school bus stopping.
I'm not sure what was the matter with the old pads and rotors besides looking horrible (and about 15 lbs of brake dust everywhere). The factory rotors were rusting badly on the inside. The pads looked to have plenty of life. The sliding pins didn't have that much grease on them though.

Ya see I don't think the new pads and rotors are as touchy but then again I think the calipers may have been sticking. Then in turn caused the rotors to possibly run hot and squeal. I'm not sure...it's just nice to not have brakes that squeal like crazy.
