Lock binding, now won't unlock when opened from inside
I installed power lock actuators recently on my 08 standard cab, and my passenger side actuator got bound up. During the course of troubleshooting, I forced the inside door handle a little too hard and I felt something break free, but the door was still locked.
After I took the door panel off and freed up the lock, now the door will open from the inside, but the lock is still down. It locks and unlocks fine with the actuator or with the key from the outside, but the normal method of pulling the inside door handle and the lock button rising no longer functions. I looked all over the inside of the door for a rod that had gotten disconnected, but I couldn't find anything. I think this is a function of the latch itself, but I'm not sure.
Has anyone had any experience with this? I tried searching, and it sounds like I may be the first to have this problem. It's not that big of a deal, just an annoyance when I have to open the door from the inside. Has anyone replaced a latch before? How hard would it be, I know the inside handle is operated by a cable instead of a rod. Anyone have a howto? I found a latch 2008 2009 Ford Ranger Right Side Door Latch New 08 09: eBay Motors (item 230366565689 end time Jun-07-10 2016 PDT)
Just not sure how much of a pain it is to install or if it would even fix my problem.

I have an 02 ranger and have removed the door latch to change the actuator It was not that bad however I have never disconnected the cable from the handle It took me a little while to figure out how to disconnect all of the rods the first time due to the fact that I could not see many of them
