Maybe it's for when the CEL fails, so you have an auditory reminder.

I suggest fixing what's wrong, and not removing warning lights.

It could be something serious.

It's an Airbag warning telling you the lamp is bad in the dash, or in your case, missing.

haha well it shuts off after a couple min so i just turn the radio up untill it goes off so i dont really notice it, and if its just an airbag warning light then i think ill just leave it out

if the airbag light was on to begin with, that means the system is not active. so now with the light out, it is still inactive. best thing to do is put the bulb back in, count how many times it flashes (ie 2-7 or 3-4) and see what the problem is. there is a way to stop the beeping, but i would rather not say in the open forum.

same goes for the check engine. if the light is on, there is a problem somewhere. a lot of auto part stores will read the codes for free. never a good idea to ignore either of the two lights.

from what i can find, a 3-4 code is driver's side resistance too low. not sure exactly what that means though. if you don't care that your system is disabled and want to get rid of the beeping, pm me and i'll tell you how.

disabling the airbag is not a good thing, the trigger for it is still there, and with a sudden shock the bags could still deploy, even when you are just driving,, on top of that , if you get stopped for an inspection and they pull the codes that could spell trouble,
i say find out what it is a fix it right,,

i agree with corkey. in my case though, i totalled the truck and fixed it myself. didn't want the airbag to begin with, so i left mine out. i know, probably now the best move, but i would rather not have it.
