Overdrive vs OD off?

i have a 2003 super cab xlt. i usually turn the overdrive when driving around town and turn it on when i get on the highway (over 55). Does anybody think i will get better gas mileage this way or should i not even bother and just leave the overdrive on all the time?

also runnin with od off is putting unecessary wear on your drivetrain because the rpms are higher and higher rpms=more wear

I was always told if you live or drive in a hilly area to leave it off until you get back to flat ground

Otherwise on.

Always on unless putting the truck underload.

Any load. Hills. Towing. Extra weight in the bed. Off-roading. Snow. Mud. Anything besides normal driving.
