My truck is the best mechanic I know...

OK, so a little while ago, I went out to start my truck, and it was dead. The stock battery had finally kicked it. So no big deal...I just went and got a new one. I got a DieHard Gold North, and I thought the problem was solved. It worked for a day, then died again.

This time, I figured maybe something had grounded out in my audio system, so I disconnected everything and charged the battery. I reconnected it, minus the stereo and amp, and it started right up. Next day, dead.

I got a warrantee replacement for the battery, and so far so good. But I am wondering, is it just a coincidence that I ended up with two dead batteries, or should I be worried that something else is wrong? I have reconnected all my audio gear, and it's been fine for about a week so far.

Or maybe my truck is a brilliant automotive electrician...

I don't think your truck fixed itself, if there was something draining those batteries. Your DieHard was probably dry stored, and filled with liquid at time of purchase and just didn't hold the charge that first day. I think you'll be ok, but keep the receipt and warranty handy!

Just curious....how much was that battery and how many CCAs?

It was $95. Not sure of the CCA...have to check the receipt, which is currently at home in my file cabinet. I've heard a lot of negative things about DieHards, but also positive. I guess the good thing is that they replaced it at Sears with no questions asked. I'll edit with CCA tonight when I get home.

...and don't even get me started about the CE light LOL. That's as regular as my girlfriend each month, only without the moodiness.
